FOREIGN MOTHERS, FOREIGN TONGUES:
IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE SHE COULD HAVE BEEN MY FRIEND

Personal project

Illustration based on the Guardian long read piece piece 'Foreign mothers, foreign tongues: ‘In another universe, she could have been my friend’' by Dina Nayeri.

Dina Nayeri, an Iranian-American writer documents her experiences growing up as a child of displacement and the generational, cultural, linguistic disconnect between her and her mother and the need for some distance to continue her documenting her story.
