LIFE'S WORK, MAKE SELF

Personal project

An illustration I made for myself as a reminder to continue even if progress is minor and it's not the best of days; a way to put my personal growth into perspective.

Once I showed this to a good friend they told me it made them think of the Chinese proverb 只要工夫深,鐵杵磨成針, so long as one works hard enough, an iron rod can even be ground down to a needle. It felt particularly meaningful that this metaphor that has been in my mind for so long has similar echoes to a proverb that is also a connection to my Chinese heritage.
